Picture Books
Officer Buckle and Gloria, by Peggy Rathmann.
I love Gloria.  She is so funny.  I like the part when she is imitating Officer Buckle behind his back.  If you like to laugh, you'll like this book.
-- Ramad, 2nd Grade

Fiction Books

Because of Winn-Dixie, by Kate DiCamillo.
Opal feels lonely because she's new in town and her mother has run away.  When Winn-Dixie, a big, smiling dog, comes into her life, she makes all kinds of new friends.  I liked this book because when we moved, I missed my old friends, so I know how Opal feels.  I also liked this book because I have a big, friendly dog and Winn-Dixie reminds me of her.
-- Kayla, 4th Grade

Non-Fiction Books

World War II, by Simon Adams.
This book has a lot of information about World War II, including The Battle of Britain and the D-Day invasion.  It is an Eyewitness book, so it also has a lot of photographs of the war and the military equipment they used.  I liked this book because it gives a good overview of the war and because I really like history.
